My eldest son, Hugh, or Shug to most people, and I went for a wee run. He had bought a wee Honda 50cc scooter back in January. I had my Jawa 350 at the time.
My diary says – What a great day. Extracts now from my diary.
Hugh and I left about 10.30 – he on his scooter, me on my motorbike. Headed over the Struie to Bonar Bridge. Bought coke, sweets and big cream cakes at the Mace shop. Then headed up the Migdale road round by Loch Buie to Loch Fleet. Then onto Golspie. Stopped at cemetery to Uncle Hugh’s grave.
Then onto Brora. Went round the back way to Rogart. Stopped at Loch Brora for picnic
Then Rogart to Lairg to Rosehall. Went for walk at Raven Rock Gorge. Had picnic there – ate our big cream buns.
Then headed back by Invershin, Bonar Bridge and over the Struie.
Great run.
