My daughter Mairi, which is a lovely Gaelic name, responds to Marsi, or Pansy Pot or a lot of other pet names! We went for a wee cycle to Croick Church. Extracts from my diary

Took wheels off Mairi’s and my bikes and put them in car. We left after a drink and biscuit. Went to Bonar Bridge and bought a picnic. Left car outside school at Ardgay and cycled to Croick. My bikes gears were awful.

Stopped by a waterfall for dinner. Nearly lost my wallet! It fell over a cliff but missed going into the river.

Came back a new way down the other side of the river. It was great. Bit windy. Put on sun cream and the sun went away.

Really enjoyed the cycle despite gear problems. Mountain bike is running nice on slick tyres.
