A walk round the back of Fyrish (7.7 miles).

This has been the first really wintry day this year. I went for the walk round Fyrish. I went down to Contullich Farm and up the field to hit the tracks through the forest at the front of Fyrish. I followed the tracks round and then up to the valley at Creag Ruadh.

And then round to the back of Fyrish. The monument is showing here on the top of Fyrish.

Cnoc Ceislein. It is many years since I have gone over it.

I had my lunch as the tracks started to decend.

Beinn Tharsuinn, across the valley.

In the back of the next picture is Beinn Tharsuinn. To the left is Wester Lealty Farm, in the middle is Ardross Distillery and to the right of middle is Ardross Castle. The township to the right is Dublin. Not of the Molly Malone fame but houses built for the Irish workers on Ardross Estate.

The Cromarty Firth coming into view.

The Sutors of Cromarty show here. The plume of steam is from Invergordon Distillery.

Just one mile from the house.

A lovely winter’s walk.
