A walk round Loch Lundie (2.3 miles).

Anne, Mairi and myself went for this short but stunning walk round part of the Black Isle.

Anne found this walk in an article in the Ross-shire Journal. It was a lovely Saturday so we headed off for this short walk. We left the car at the little car park on the road down to Kilmuir. As a wee boy I attended Drumsmittal School which is fairly near and never knew this place existed. The photo shows Ord Hill.

Of course we had to have something to eat and this is the lovely spot we chose to do so.

Loch Lundie is just showing.

This beautiful old mansion house is at Pitlundie.

Once at the top of the brae there were stunning views.

Munlochy Bay is showing with Ben Wyvis in the cloud.

These hills to the west are looking to Glen Affric.

We came down to a tarred road at the end of the loch.

We made a slight navigating error but it took us to beautiful views out over the Moray Firth.

We corrected our route and came the other side of Pitlundie.

We came down to the loch where we followed the shoreline. There was a young man paddle boarding on the loch. He came out and walked ahead of us with his board. On having a chat we found he was local.

Then we came back to the wood and headed down to the car park.

This is at the little car park.

A lovely and unexpected walk.
