Moray Coastal Trail – Buckie to Portessie (3.8 miles).

This section of the Trail is hardly worth producing a page for but it is part of our walk along the Moray Coastal Trail. We are on holiday at Sonas, 4 Rannas Place, Portessie. It is a lovely place. On arriving we walked into town (Buckie) to get some shopping. That is why the track is all over the place and the mileage slightly higher than necessary. Portessie is really on the outskirts of Buckie.

We left 4 Rannas place after unpacking the car and walked along the A942 into Buckie. When we reached Freuchney Road we turned left up it and then right onto East Church Street. We cut onto Newlands Lane, then Garden Lane and found LIDL. So we knew where it was to get our supplies. We headed back to East Church Street and went back towards Portessie looking for the Blythswood shop. Mairi informed us that she thought it was in the other direction so we headed back to the square and on down West Church Street. No Blythswood! So we came back and just where we had got to the last time, one shop on, was Blythswood. So we knew where it was. Mairi was wanting to look at wedding dresses but it will not be open till Monday.

Down West Church Street was this Gospel Hall.

Back at the square.

The Episcopalian Church and I presume the manse (or rectory?) beside it.

The war memorial.

We went back to LIDL and picked up our supplies to get us through the weekend. I stupidly bought eight cans of Pepsi Max, all had to be carried back in our rucksacks! But it is so delicious. Then we mostly retraced our steps back to our holiday let. This is Sonas at 4 Rannas Place.

The view to the sea at Portessie.

This photo shows we are on the Moray Coastal Trail.
