A wee scooter run to Inveroykel (74 miles).
Today had a really good forecast and it did turn out a most beautiful day with wall to wall sunshine. It’s been a great February. I went a wee run on the scooter to have my lunch out in the wilds.
Tomorrow I have to have a biopsy which I am not looking forward to. This was to cheer me up and take my mind off things.
I left home in the late morning and went down to Alness to the bank. It was then up to Mossfield and on to Tain by the Scotsburn Road. From Tain I went by Edderton to Ardgay and then up the Croick road but branched off to Culrain. This photo was taken further up the road beyond the Kyle of Sutherland. Ben More Assynt can be seen in the distance with snow on it.

Once I reached the River Oykel I stopped by the Bailey Bridge for lunch.

No cooking today – just my thermos flask with some coffee in it.

I went for a wee walk to the road end to stretch my legs. I have torn a calf muscle and walking is difficult. The ‘twist and go’ scooter is brilliant if you have a sore leg. I am just becoming an old man.

I then headed to Rosehall and took the road to Invershin. I stopped for another walk, or hobble, going over the railway bridge to Culrain which I had passed through earlier. It took me quite a while.

Carbisdale Castle.

Culrain Station.
