A walk up the Bin of Cullen with Anne (3.4 miles).
On our last day of holiday in Portknockie we went for a walk up the Bin of Cullen.
Yesterday was a day of violent storms and rain – Storm Babet. Today was still very windy but we managed this walk in the afternoon. I drove us out to Cullen and then onto the Huntley road. A couple of miles up we turned onto the road signposted Hill of Maud and a mile up parked at an entrance to the Seafield Estate.

We just followed the path to the top. You soon take a left turn just after a wee bridge over a burn.

At this bridge.

At the top, looking to Buckie. It was blowing a hurricane and bitterly cold. The thermometer in the car said 7°C!

Looking to Portknockie.

Looking to Cullen.

There is an old ‘trig’ station of the top. The hill showing is probably Knock Hill.

I had carried a wee picnic in my rucksack but there was nowhere to eat it so we had it when we got back to the car. Yet another lovely walk in this wonderful area. It’s been a brilliant holiday.
