A circular walk from Portmahomack to Rockfield (6.1 miles).

I am driving again and it is wonderful. I drove Anne and myself out to Portmahomack. We last did this walk on the first official day of my retirement – Retire 20.

We started our walk at 11.10 and headed past the Free Church and onto the path to Inver.

I took a few pictures at the beach and the car-park before we started walking. Portmahomack is very attractive.

Portmahomack Free Church Continuing – a really impressive building.

Once you reach this house you have to go into the field just before it to take you up onto the road.

It is very flat country out here.

The road takes you up to the B9165 which you follow for a very short distance before turning left. The way to Rockfield is signposted and takes you by this grassy track.

We stopped for lunch half way up the grassy track and sat on the wall. I love a picnic! You can see the result of my surgery quite clearly.

We came to the road to Rockfield and followed it down to the hamlet.

Looking to Ballone Castle.

These whins have got the seasons wrong.

Portmahomack starting to show. The return walk just follows the road.

We got back to the car at just after 2.00. Another great walk.
