A walk from Ullapool to Loch Acall with Mairi and Graham (7.0 miles).
Mairi and Graham treated us to a lovely day out to Ullapool.
Mairi drove us over to Ullapool in her wee Suzuki Alto which had just passed an MOT. She and Graham treated us to a cake (I had a scone) at the Ceilidh Place on West Argyle Street. It is really nice. Then we walked through the town to get to the real start of our walk just off the A835 at Broom Park.

The bluebells are still making quite a show.

We passed some subterranean eco houses and got quite a view over Loch Broom.

Part of An Teallach is showing over the promontory. The hill on the promontory to the right must be Beinn Ghobhlach.

Starting to get a good view over Ullapool as we get higher.

Any chance of a seat and we take it. I have to wear the stupid hat after having two skin cancers removed last year.

As we went round Meall Mhor, or Ullapool Hill, we started to see north to the hills of Sutherland. Possibly Ben More Coigach and Cul Beag and Cul Mor.

Loch Achall starting to show.

On the way back we saw smoke to the right of this bridge. When we went to check a couple had a barbecue going! Anne gave a piece of her mind. There are warnings on TV at the moment that conditions are very dry and not to have fires. There was even a sign before the bridge requesting that there are no fires. Some people are just ignorant.

We stopped just before the loch and had a lovely picnic provided by Mairi and Graham.

After lunch we went down to the loch and then followed the river back down to the bridge.

Still some primroses around.

The road back to Ullapool is called the Quarry Road. You can see why.

When we got back to Ullapool we followed the most delightful path beside the river down into the town.

My selfie just captured Mairi and myself.

What a view looking west at the sea front.

That was just a delightful walk with delightful company. We had an ice-cream and a wee wander round Ullapool. It was all action as there seemed to be a custom bike rally or show. Mairi then drove us home.
