A scooter trip to Mossat Antiques (203 miles)

Today I had a disaster free trip!

I left the house about 8.50 and headed over the Black Isle by the back roads to Inverness. I went to Tesco to get my usual and unimaginative supplies for the day. I also picked up petrol. I went to my mum’s for a short visit. My brother Roddy was there just back from his holiday. He has not been keeping well.

I then pressed on going by Ardersier to Nairn and by Brodie to Forres. I stopped in Forres to stretch my legs. It is a really bonny place.

And then headed by Dallas to Dufftown and Cabrach.

This is before Dallas. The cold was affecting me!

Before Craigellachie I stopped in Archisetown. It is a nice wee place. I had never stopped here before.

I had my lunch about 1.00 between Cabrach and Mossat. I have stopped here before, a most peaceful place.

No different from any of my other days out! This is what I enjoy.

And got to Mossat. I love the Antique Shop here.

I bought Mairi a duck.
I doubt it is antique!

I had to stop before Cockbridge again the cold was affecting the inner man. Getting old is not good.

And then went over the Lecht. This scooter did the climb no bother.

I pushed on by Tomintoul, by passed Grantown on Spey, through Carrbridge and onto the amazing road from Slochd to Farr. I had something to eat here. There is a bit of heather burning going on today. They do this so the heather produces new shoots next year. This feeds the young grouse bred for a very special purpose – the hoi-polloi come with their guns and blow their brains out. It is called sport.

This is Loch Farr. Quite lovely.

It was then down to Inverness to ASDA where I got more petrol and bought one or two things in the shop.

I crossed the Black Isle by the A9 and reached home about 5.40. The day was cold and very windy but dry. The only trouble I had was losing the rubber buffer on my tripod stand. The scooter ran flawlessly. I needed that to trust it again. No knee pain after travelling that distance. It is an amazing bike. I hate the look of it but it does what it is supposed to with ease.
